Northern Arizona’s First Children’s Museum!
…truly a place of discovery!

the spot… spelled backwards is tops! An amazing partnership with the wonderful folks at our local mall, The Prescott Gateway Mall, resulted in a space, our mini-spot location through the summer of 2010. A strong group of volunteers are working to open this area for special events, and fabulous programs. We hope you become one of the community participants! At the spot…a Child’s Museum children take center stage. It will be a haven for young children and their families to inquire, discover, imagine and create. It is a place where kids are allowed to construct their world through open-ended experiences as they explore, practice skills, and learn. This museum honors and respects the creative and expressive work of children realizing that they are the primary participants in crafting their lives.

Our primary focus is The Art Experience Spot which will delight children through exposure to local artists and a variety of media techniques. We believe all children have special talents and varied interests. They should be provided opportunities to use their creativity and their imaginations. The Art Experience Spot will provide events that include all of the Fine Arts, featuring our local artists in residence…visual art, music, creative movement and dance, and storytelling, dramatic play and puppetry. Once The Art Experience Spot opens, we are focused on The Wee Nature Spot for Toddlers and The Old West Discovery Spot, featuring science, math and history. (See the permanent exhibits section of the website) In all of the exhibits, we will deliver challenging and engaging programs as well as provide unique activities for children that embed essential life skills, and basic core knowledge about science, math, history, arts, technology, and language. There are so many ways we can use the special talents and participation of interested citizens. Help us raise money, for this endeavor and through this mini-spot we will raise awareness about the importance of building foundational skills in childhood and raise hopes for the future though our children, their families and the spot!
